Master Hattori became 80 years old a few years ago. In Japan, a person's 80th birthday is commemorated with a special celebration called 傘寿 / Sanju. To celebrate his special anniversary year, and also his proud achievements as a Master craftsman, Hattori decided to produce a Special Limited Edition Collection of knives called the 傘 San Series.

The Hattori 傘 San Series knife collection features special, very limited production models, which Master Hattori can no longer produce in large quantities due to the rarity or limited availability of handle materials or blade materials.

For the 160th version of the Hattori "SAN" Limited Edition, Master Hattori decided to create a truly distinctive Cowry X Damascus Single Bevel Edge Utility Knife — a blade type of exceptional rarity, demanding the highest level of skill to grind and finish to perfection.

From the tip of beautiful and sophisticated Cowry-X Damascus blade to the very end of its handle, the Hattori SAN-160 “Wild Flow” follows a graceful, flowing curve. Every contour has been thoughtfully shaped with balance and design in mind, creating a one-of-a-kind work of art that brings together natural character and Master Hattori’s craftsmanship.

For the handle, Master Hattori carefully selected a piece of Stag for its distinctive shape and warm, natural coloring. Its wild, dynamic character offers a striking contrast to the delicate beauty of the Cowry-X Damascus blade. A solid brass hilt and vivid purple fiber spacers bring these elements together in beautiful harmony, adding warmth and a lively touch of color.

Dynamic yet sophisticated, “Wild Flow” expresses the beauty of contrasts, where flowing lines unite the untamed character of stag with the intricate elegance of Damascus steel. Only one knife has been made, making this a truly unique creation.

Engraved on the Nickel Silver Hilt are the words "Only One Made" — a testament to the singular nature of this piece. This knife was crafted once, and once only. There is no other like it in the world.

The blade is a Single Bevel Edge Utility blade, forged from Cowry X Damascus Steel — one of the most prized and rare blade materials available. Each knife comes with a Brown leather sheath, a fancy gift box.
